andrea riderelli conductor

Andrea Riderelli studied composition with Vieri Tosatti and orchestra conducting with Nicola Samale and Erwin Acel. He further studied with Ludovic Bacs at the Music University of Bucharest.

With tastes which are rather different from the musical landscape of his native country, Andrea feels more attracted to the German culture. As a composer, he prefers a lieder repertoire. Two of his lieder cycles for voice and piano - ”Ali“ (1987 ) and ”Funf Neue Lieder“(1990) were broadcast by RAI.

He enjoys conducting Baroque music pieces (mainly Bach), classical music (Beethoven), post-Romantic music. Some examples would be Brahms’ last three Sinfonie and Ein Deutches Requiem, Richard Strauss – Tod und Verklarung and Metamorphosen, Wagner - Wesendonk Lieder, Siegfried Idyll, Tristan und Isolde and Mahler – Kindertoten Lieder, Adagietto from the 5th Sinfonie.

An indefatigable promoter of a rather special conception on contemporary creations going beyond models and labels, many times Andrea invited the audience to a journey of discovery of works by Vieri Tosatti (1920 – 1999) and Mario Zafred  (1924 – 1987), believing they are rare opportunities of  inner spiritual meditation on the background of today’s cultural life.
